One of my "daughter's", fathers was born in Algeria and lived there
until he was 19, his parents were missionaries.  Living in Grand
Rapids, he recently became tired of hearing a black man he worked with
rant about being African American.  He asked the black guy if he had
been born in Africa..."no" was the answer.  "Well, have you ever been
to Africa or have any family there?" ... answer again, "no".  He then
just plain told the guy, " I am African American, I am an African born
man of American citizenship, you are an American Negro.   He's never
heard the "African American" rant from this guy again, of course the
guy doesn't talk to him unless he has to.   The black guy is being
racist, of course he is accusing the white guy of it.
