> Ralph...what is different is a matter of scale. In time-honored tradition, if not natural law, the powerful have always taken advantage of the weak. Hard work? Yes, for some...but if someone more powerful covets what you work hard for, you'd better be pretty clever to survive. Right, other places have resources too, and guess who is there working hard to take control of them before others do? You do know what Enron was about? Energy control.
Sorta sounds like the words we heard just prior to a little gathering in
1776.... <smile> Yes we do have to protect our selves. And the biggest
power baron is our government(assuming of course you are in the USA).
While I consider myself a Patriot and I did volunteer to serve in the
armed forces, I am not an idiot(well there may be other opinions on
this....) and I think our currentgovernment has gotten a tad to big and
unwieldly. Need to give back more power to the states and local
folks.......
> I have heard, and wonder if anyone else has heard it too, that at the current rate of consumption the world's entire oil supply will be consumed in 20 years.
Yes I had heard this. The first time was back in 1972. Not sure how much
faith to put in it. BUT, and isn't there always one.... But I do
believe we are going to run out unless if do some serious behavior
changing OR research in alternative projects. And I am not just talking
gas.... the Plastic industry uses as more or more petroluem as the auto
gas uses.....
