[TheForge] Gas Forge Question

Guys,
The latest issue of the Blacksmiths Journal has the plans for a gas forge
that looks interesting to me. It is a substantial design that stands on the
floor and uses firebrick as a liner. It is built very sturdy and I think,
for me, it looks heavy and strong enough to supplement my coal forge. I
already have a lightweight gas forge that we built a few years ago as a
group at our local forge, but it is just a little delicate due to the space
age insulation we used. That insulation is almost like powder and once it is
poked it can't be patched. Firebrick will be easy to replace as it wears,
the space age stuff is extremely expensive and a person has to buy a whole
sheet. According to the article it can be constructed for around $200.
Lot of words, but here is the question, has anyone had any experience with
the gas forge described in the Journal; they say the original design was by
Don Howley and this version is by Pat McCarthy of Washington MO? If so, will
it run on propane? If so, what pressure?
Thanks,
Robby
