Wow, thats pretty fancy, nice work. A couple thoughts I could add is that a
lot of nose stands made these days have a hanger for a float or two. Also,
most dentistry these days is being done with the aid of power tools and a
hanger for this equipment can be handy. I know I bought my wife a 1/5 hp
flex shaft dremmel tool for teeth work and she just loves it. The dremel
motor needs to be hung during use and her nose stand has an attachent for
this. Some sort of padding on the rest would make it a little more
comfortable I would imagine. Also, the weight factor can get to be a
consideration as they have to lug these things around in addition to there
tools. Most manufactured ones these days are made of aluminum square tubing.
A few years ago I picked up at a farm action an old hand forged speculum
which is used to hold the horses mouth open during certain procedures. A
really neat piece, and not the easiest thing to make as the mechanism is
quite complex. Whoever made it new what they were doing, it's one of the
neater old hand forged objects I have. Speculums are big bucks these days. I
bought my wife one when I got her the dremel outfit and I believe it cost
around 800 bucks.
