We bought a used hyster lift truck, 5000 lb capacity with a mast that can
lift 20". Engine is a GM 4 cylinder and runs on propane. Got it for a fair
price but got jerked about by the seller (a supposedly factory authorized
refurb shop) with repairs that should have been done. I finally got a
service manual ($200 from Hyster) and did the repairs myself. Now it works
very well. The engine has a feedback control carburetor and there is no odor
at all from the exhaust.
We wanted something for occasional stacking in the warehouse and for
unloading trucks. Electric ones, especially when used occasionally, tend to
be discharged when you need them (unless you have a smart charger that can
remain plugged all the time when not in use). Our lift has a low gas
pressure alarm so you can head back the shed for a quick tank swap and right
back to work.

| I am thinking about getting a fork truck for the shop. I have plenty of
| room for one and I do not have a crane. I am starting to work on larger
| sculptures and they don't move themselves.
