[TheForge] Reclaiming leg vise with stripped threads

If you are not going for an authentic restoration,  you could buy some 
heavy acme threaded rod and matching nuts from McMaster and Carr.  A little 
welding and forging should give you a useful vise.

I have heard of:

A.   wrapping the male shaft with sq rod and brazing it on to make a thread.

B.  Restoring the female threads by pouring extra hard babbit around the 
least worn section of the male thread
