Reclaiming leg vise with stripped threads

I have two leg vises with stripped threads. Both male and female are bad on
one. The other one might be ok if the female threads could be restored. Are
the vises junk?

This is Bill Mackey again. I posted the inquiry about reclaiming leg vises
with stripped threads. Since I have had no response in five days, I wonder
if I have posted my question in the wrong place. Would someone advise me?
