Dan that depends on what you mean by 'avalible' I know that there is a 
hacksaw included in the Mastermyr find that to me looks almost like a 
modern hacksaw. And that was dated at around 1050-1100 AD. So by 
extrapolation it would seem that the tool was fairly evolved by that time 
meaning they had been around for a long time prior to that.
