Well, Dave, if you make specific allegations of dates and locations you think I
beat my wife, I'm quite confident I can provide info that proves I wasn't
beating my wife on those dates at those locations. Provide all the dates and
locations you care to, and I'm more than happy to show that in each instance
you're incorrect.
It doesn't prove I don't beat my wife, but each time you make that mistake, you
lose credibility and I gain it.
So if George is making specific allegations (he has), ABANA could just as
easily do the same thing.
If George is wrong, he loses credibility and the ABANA board gains it.
Now if George simply said to the ABANA board "prove you guys aren't all
crooks...", then your analogy would be accurate.
But he's been pretty specific, so the analogy doesn't hold water.

The ABANA board doesn't really even have much to prove.
All they have to do is provide answers that should be readily available, and
are (according to George) documented.
The problem (according to George) is simply that the documentation (e.g.
minutes) is being hidden.

The basic questions, though, remain, as to where are the minutes from that
particular meeting and what took place at that meeting.
Seems to me that you should be more than happy for those minutes to be
available so that George can be proven wrong, and the ABANA board can be
vindicated.
So I expect you're privately begging for those minutes to be posted.

It's still a case of asking them to prove a negative.  Can't be done.  But
the questioner looks good and righteous.

Have you stopped beating your wife yet?  I got an e-mail (I can't tell you
who from) that says you are heavily involved with several other dastardly
activities of such a disgusting nature that ....  I demand that you prove
that it's not true.  I can't divulge the source of my information, but it
SOUNDS like it's all true.  Honest!

I dare you to prove that you're not doing those disgusting things.  Lacking
such proof that you aren't, then you are a .....dare I say it?.... a member
of the vast right wing conspiracy.
