[TheForge] A spiral jig or form

Hello all,



I was reading though a Francis Whitaker book, the Cookbook; and there is a
candle holder made of 12, 1/4 by 12 inch inch round pieces.   They are
formed into two part descending  spiral with a band interrupting the spiral
in the middle.  The In his directions he says to shape the pieces around a
form so that they are all the same before aligning them and attaching them
to their upper and lower bands.

I cannot for the life of me imagine what this form looks like or how to make
one.  I have seen this design or shape before, it seems the oldest most
traditional form and I would love to be able to  produce it.

If any of you know how its done please do tell.
