The reason for the big line is so that you don't "create" moisture
in the line.
Your water filter needs to be before the "main" and so would an oil
filter. Remember that the water filter will need freeze protection
too. This could be mounted in the shop and be heat taped and
insulated.
An "oiler" should be as near to the device it's oiling as possible,
we always hard piped oilers to equipment if possible, no hoses. Never
install an oiler ahead of a main, the oil will precipitate out of the
air and you will fill the low parts of your main with oil. Then once
it's full, you'll get oil mist, (or stream) from every hose you use.
