Jeff, My press is basicly like a 36 ton log splitter .......but when
you upset something when the lower mass starts to move to one side......it
continues to do so even though the guides are tight and holding the ram in
line. It is just the 1 to 2 degree tilt of the plate that starts material
going in a particular direction and then you have to stop and turn the part
so it goes the other way a bit to correct it.
Just like when you upset something and have to keep correcting it by
hand.
