I just looked in my son's M.H., if I did the math right that's
going to be 2,024 lbs. of pipe not counting couplings and whatever
else you do for stabilizing the couplings. I think that would be my
main concern.
I think I'd want to see something solid in the pipe at the
couplings, even a piece of hard wood log turned to fit snuggly inside,
going both ways from the coupling a couple of feet. And weld the
coupling after tightening. Maybe overkill...maybe not... it' s
hanging over your house...
I have a friend that is a pipefitter, I'll try to get a hold of him
today and see what he thinks of standing that much pipe without
cables. Also, I can give you the data from the loading charts on this
pipe, but you'll have to tell me what to give you, I'm ignorant of the
nomenclature, the chart escapes me a bit. (not sure what "concentric
loading" is)
I'm sure your experience can tell you how big and deep to go with
the footer better than my guessing can.
