There is an isolation that comes in a can that works great for this use .
Spray it into a plastic bag , zip-loc etc.., then place the object on the bag.
I have done this with some regulators for a mobile oxy-acety outfit.
Just don't get it on your hands! it takes forever to get off.
I think it's called "Good stuff"
I purchased mine at homeco. In the spray insulation section.
