Terry,

Just be sure to fully anneal the brass and bronze before twisting.  Once 
you've made the initial twist of the yarns into strands they will have work 
hardened a bit from the twisting.  It would be good to anneal the strands 
again before doing the back twist to form the rope.  You may not have to 
anneal it again, but better safe than sorry.
