I've been discussing an anvil with a guy, who might give it to me, and I was
wondering what people might be able to tell me about it, from the
description.
His wife said it's 19 inches long- I'm assuming she's referring to length
with table and horn. He described it as follows:
"This anvil is actually in good shape. The horn looks like someone drove the
fine tip in with some heavy work and a modest grinding would restore it so
that the flaws won't transfer to your work. The top is not too level, but it
worked fine for me. You may be right about 110 to 150 pound range because I
was only guessing at the 90. The side seems to be labeled ALLE(E)N'S
DU(N)(L)(L)Y and above that it is either says sons or 50(?). Its and old and
long used anvil so the side is hard to read. It is definitely not 200 lbs
and definitely not less than 90lbs. 110 is a good bet."
Part of what I need to know, is the probable weight, because tht will
determine whether or not I need to take someone with me to move it. He also
said that it had been an old farm anvil, used by his family, for years. I'd
appreciate any information you can give me.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.
Never a horse that cain't be rode,
And never a rider who cain't be throwed....
