Could you not just braze them?

Subject: [TheForge] design help needed.
hello;
i am making some brass candlesticks for christmas presents and was
hoping to use a brass yellow finish hard solder. well the price of hard
silver solder is out of my price range. below is a poor ascii drawing of
the parts that need to be solder. the design is based on an iforge demo
jock dempsey gave.
Brass Candle Sticks and More

i would like a small fillet of solder at these joints:
where the oo and 1/4" brass rod meet.
where the oo and OO rings meet.
where the OO ring meets the dished drip pan and base.
where the 3/4" copper tubing meets the 16 gage dished drip pan.
i was thinking i would take one of the spools of oatey safe-flo silver
solder and use it. (in cleaning the shop the past 6 weeks i discovered 5
1 lbs spools of this solder. ;-) ) a silver finished solder joint with a
small fillet at the above joints would perhaps lend some constrast to
the brass yellow.

would anyone have alternative ideas? would anyone know of alternative
hard solder that is brass yellow finish that is reasonable in price?
