It is critical to talk to your insurance agent not only could you 
find yourself not covered for the shop and equipment you might also 
find that you would not have your homeowners coverage if they 
determined the damage was caused by your running a business out of 
your home. As Andy noted they don't want to pay out and if they can 
get out of it they will, so make sure you are properly covered it is 
a necessary expense of doing business.
