[TheForge] On the making of a LESS efficient draft

My current coal forge works great, the
draft is excellent. Right now the fact
that he flame sucks into the side draft
when the blower is on and that sparks
occasionally spew from the top have not
been an issue, until now.

I am moving into another building.
Because of the location that the chimney
will be in, it is best that I keep
sparks to a minimum. I am thinking that
my side draft design may have to go, in
favor of a more traditional hood
arrangement.

I went immediately to the side draft
when I started out and have never used a
more conventional hood. I have seen lots
of variations on the theme, most seem to
work, more or less. I would be
interested in hearing some suggestions.

The current chimney is a bit shy of
40ftX12inch, the new must be shorter and
smaller probably nor more that
16ftX10inch.
