[TheForge] Stir Things Up - NEW TOPIC!!!

For me... craftsmanship is making the intended item and making it
acceptably handsome and totally functional, a good coat of paint is a
plus... Making it look like what I wanted AND function, THAT'S ART
TO ME. I never know exactly what it's going to look like until I'm
done, but I have to say that appearance is last on my mind when I'm
"creating", function is paramount to me.

I still "create", sometimes quite creatively, but it's only art to
someone that can't grasp the concept of, "put it in here, turn this
crank and it comes out here, all done!" So what is art? Does the
item have to be non-functional to be art? Or is a well planned and
executed machine or building art also?
