Cheat. Don't trace. Spray glue the petals after you've ironed
them, position them on the sheet you're cutting, flat them out
firmly, then hit it with spray paint. Peel off the petals and
you've got a perfect pattern sheet.
If you plan on doing a lot of them, do the above on some thin
sheet stock and cut them out with a chisel or nibbler to make a
stencil.
