Walt,
You might want to inquire about it anyway.  Insurance can be very funny about how they treat preexisting conditions.  Sometimes it matters, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm on cobra and my insurance just went from $460 to nearly $600.  Just for
my wife and I.  Trouble is getting on another plan may be a problem now that
I am diabetic.
