Here is what I bought at Dayton week before last.  Spanish designer had
these build by Seeed Separate spectrum analyzer and oscillator link together
with a software package which allows controls the spectrum analyzer and
oscillator through their USB ports and provides the tracking function.  $458
gets you pretty close to you $400 and you don't have to worry about an old
piece of equipment.

If that does not work for you I have SG-677 Sweep Generator I would be glad
to sell for $100 plus shipping, it goes to 1000MHz all you have to do is
provide an oscilloscope, the detector is built in ... tom, N3LLL
