[Test-Equipment] AIL 460 Sig Gen update and questions

Good afternoon,

I've made some progress in my '460 adventure, as Chuck put it...I
too was feeling brave. :)

I located the burnt cap on the front panel mounted pc board. The
cap is across the 5 v VCC line to ground next to a 74LS138N chip.

I figured out the mechanical disassembly and separated the front
panel from the main unit, then I dropped the card in question from the back
of the panel to where I can get to both sides of the pc board. So, now I
have full access to both sides. (I've taken pictures that I will share if
asked).

Now I have a couple of basic questions:

         1. What is a typical value for a bypass cap in this application?
Probably not critical...and I'm thinking at least 25V cap, but any wisdom
here?

          2. For anyone who knows these things...any "must check" items
for collateral damage? How likely this is an isolated failure?

            Thanks in advance,

                 Dennis
