Hello Sandy
~ I have a 288X that I used to use regularly. Was very stable and reliable.
It has been sitting on the test gear bench for 5 years now and not turned on
since my XYL had a bad stroke in 2007. I also had the Hickok VTVM with the
"giant" 7-8" illuminated meter and it works exceptionally well considering
it's age. I had to build an RF probe for it as the test leads/cables were
lost by the guy I bought it from about
15 years ago. Where are you located.
I'm located in Fort Bragg, California, about 100 miles north of San
Francisco. I started my ham career when I was 13 down in South Texas. and
was W5BRO. When I moved to CA in 1955, I was K6UCD. I started getting back
into ham radio about three years ago, and have been getting together some
test equipment.
I'm glad to hear that the 288X is stable and reliable. I took a flyer on
this one on ebay, and can only hope for the best.
I'm interested in getting a Hickok 209A VTVM, if that is what you have, and
want to sell it.
73,
Brian
