Don't overlook the "service grade" instruments by RCA, B&K or Sencore. I
picked up an older Sencore DVM-37 digital meter that seems as accurate as my
Fluke bench meter.
I would look for two meters, a decent digital multi meter and a good analog
VTVM with an RF probe.
As prevoiously mentioned, nothing beats an analog meter for peaking
circuits.
