Hello Carl,

I had forgotten that you worked for National! With all your experience with
them, which of their receivers do you like the best?

~ You might be thinking of the earlier 606. National bought them in 64 to
use with the HRO-500 and NCX-5 where wider range and better stability were
needed over the GR-1000A junk we were using.

~ They drifted as bad as the GR and accuracy was poor but I never opened one
up.

~ After a bit of management screaming and threatening legal action HP soon
delivered the 606A which was fully acceptable. I soon became responsible for
their maintenance (I volunteered (-;) and later trained others on the 606A
and HRO-500 when I went into Mgmt and also R&D....split responsibilities
during those waning years.
