It's not very difficult to build a PIN diode switch with over 100 dB 
isolation. But the problem is the switching speed. If it's very fast, 
then you will generate lots of harmonics of the switching transients 
which will cause your keying of the synthesizer to slop over into 
harmonic-related bands which can go all the way up into UHF or 
higher. So you also need to design it for a reasonable keying 
constant that's in keeping with your usual keying speed.
