Hi Steve

It was me that posted that and if you check the schematics in the manual
you'll see that it's exactly as I described.
The balanced output sections follow the attenuator and the attenuator
output is via a coaxial socket, can't remember now without looking but probably
SMA or SMB, and there's no reason why you can't just plug into that and
fit what suits you on the front panel.

The 3336 is a great piece of equipment but watch out for attenuator
problems on earlier versions that have an actuator that clips onto the PCB and
makes and breaks contacts across some PCB pads. I've got one like that and
it's a real pain to get it working reliably, even when visually there seems
to be nothing wrong with it, but my later one never gives any trouble.

I seem to remember some online service manuals not having the schematics
but I've got full pdfs of the user and service manuals if you need copies.

regards

Nigel

it appears that the HP 3336B takes the smaller mini-WECO connector: WECO
440A, and the HP 3336B option 01 takes the standard (larger) WECO 358A
connector.

See paragraph 1-15 in the 3336 manual.

There's a suggestion from the Time-Nuts list that it's fairly easy to add
a 50 ohm BNC output to a 3336B:
