Hi. Although this might not be of interest to the Tek folks, I just wanted to ask you kind people if you have any opinions about LeCroy 'scopes. ??

Next, I wanted to say I just received my ATTEN ADS11202CAL 'scope. I must say that in spite of not wanting to increase the USA/Chinese trade deficit, I am just flat amazed by this little tool.
Since this is my first Digital 'scope, it will take me a while to become accustomed to the color display and the shape of the waveforms. Not quite as smooth as my collection of Teks and Hitachis......

I must echo the comments I have encountered several times on the WWW. The only negatives so far (for me and several others):

1. Packing. Although the 'scope arrived in perfect condition, I was disappointed in the poor factory packing. Since it came 1/2 way around the world, I expected something more robust. But, it was unscathed.

2. Documentation. After going to about a zillion web sites, I finally found a PDF for the English Manual. I asked the Seller (Beyond EXCELLENT, by the way) for an English Manual and was sent one the next day, but I found one one the WWW first.

I have also asked with help with the "Guarantee Card", which is 100% Chinese, including the mailing address! The only thing I recognized on the card was the outline where the stamp goes! ha ha It has a 3 yr warranty.

This documentation thing is unacceptable. Since the controls are in English, ATTEN should provide a Manual of the correct language, depending on where it's going, or their web site should guide the buyer to request a specific language.

One last "nit'....the power cord. ATTEN states that they will provide the correct cord for the country it's being sold to. Mine has some kind of bizarre plug on the wall end, but they do include an adapter.
NO PROBLEM, since the 'scope accepts the standard PC 3 prong cord.....

This little thing has more feature/function than I'll ever use, but nice to have.

Oh yeah, the English Manual has the typical 'translation funnies' in it. Some are cool....

thanks!
