Here's some info from K0CQ on the uW reflector. Might want to
contact him directly if you're interested in putting it into
service.

I've had one of those for decades. I believe I have the manual for it.
It uses a coaxial diode so should avoid the resonance problems of the
5722 and similar diodes used in HP NF heads. I found the termination was
based on magnetically biased ferrites because it has to pass tube
current, not simple wide band disk resistors and I've not used it
because those ferrites were messed up. I had a thought of changing the
termination to fans or disks of composition resistors, like 6 300 ohm in
parallel, maybe set up as attenuators. If the termination was broad band
and a good match to 50 ohms, it might be useful beyond 1 GHz as it was
rated.

I've not used it, though I've had it on the bench for a while trying to
improve the termination. In the event the emission of the filament gets
used up, replacement is probably truly impossible. And the coaxial tube
is crucial to the design.

I looked for ten minutes and the manual didn't show up where I expected
it. But many manuals are in boxes since I'm nearing the end of moving
out of the old place where I stayed nearly 40 years.
