[Test-Equipment] UPS damage to test equipment.

Whether it is proper packaging or not the consistency in handling
packages without attention to detail is extended within the UPS
Businesses infrastructure. Just because it is not package correctly does
not extend the benefit to UPS of throwing it around, or dropping it.
Does this mean package your items in a demolition proof box. I do not
subscribe to using this business or promote it's operation within the
many organizations I am a member.

Hi Jim:

From what you've said it's hard to tell if it was the fault of UPS, but
my guess is that the problem was poor packaging.
I've received many rack mount sized items via UPS and other carriers
without damage (and some that were damaged). The key is proper
packaging. To see many examples of things that I've received with good
and poor packaging see: http://prc68.com/I/Pack.shtml

Have Fun,
