You're right.  I realized that after I wrote the email.  It is not an 
electrolytic and, as such, I can find a suitable film cap.  It is a 
coupling cap so would not be polarized.

BTW, it most likely isn't bad as the generator does work.  I'm just 
trying to circumvent some near-future failures from the almost 
forty-year-old electrolytics (one has already shorted).
