Hi Robert:  Thanks for the information.  I have tried all of those things you suggested.

The setup that I am trying to make work has the transmitter and receiver next to each other.  Maybe I will just use a small pilot light in series with the antenna lead and tune for maximum brightness.  I was trying to demonstrate to a group of Scouts the 1941 message from FDR and hearing it on a receiver that was used in that time period. So everything would be one a small table.  I could separate the transmitter in my home which would be 1/3 of a mile away but that would take away from the display.  Maybe I will use a scope also so they can see the waveform when he speaks.  Anyway
