     I just noticed your mention of R-390s. To me they seem 
much more complex than the 606A. I don't have one (yet) but 
have worked on SP-600-JX's. I've come to the conclusion that 
they are much better receivers than is usually supposed and 
that a lot of them are out there working but sick.
