To test tubes on the Simpson, you have to push the line test and the tube
test button down together. Note the setup buttons will release when you
release the buttons.
It is an unusual tester - unusually attractive and designed to test tubes
rapidly if you are willing to go along with it's rather unusual operation.
Emission testers can be useful if you learn how to use them (I am not quite
sure if I ever have).
