Jeff, I've had good luck with a few light coats of Krylon "Crystal 
Clear" spray polyurethane.  I think you can get various glosses, 
depending on what you like.

I usually don't wait a long time between coats.  They're not totally 
dry, in other words, but not wet.  I don't know if it makes a 
difference.  It just seemed like a good idea.
