[Test-Equipment] VXI Spec an

Glenn,

A standard VXI chassis is controlled with a "Slot Zero" card, which contains
a hard drive, the CPU, and memory. The Slot Zero card must be programmed to
handle the specific modules that are installed in that chassis. My employer
uses these VXI chassis with relay modules and arbitrary signal generator
modules to remotely control aerospace ground equipment, using an RS-485
command bus,

I am unfamiliar with the V9054 spectrum analyzer, but all of the VXI modules
I have seen do require the VXI frame to operate, since the frame contains
the power supply as well as the Slot Zero card.

A friend of mine has found a Morrow Technologies V9054 VXI spectrum
analyzer.

I understand computers and spectrum analyzers.

Does a VXI frame require a controller CPU, or does it have one built in?

Can a VXI piece of test equipment be used stand alone without placing
it into a VXI frame?

Is it possible to control the VXI test equipment directly from a PC?

I feel sure that I can properly power up the module. Possibly a PC104
module could be programmed to interface the VXI module to a PC?

Thanks
