Mike,
I'm not sure (there have been three similar threads running on two lists)
what hardware we were originally talking about. But if this was the thread about
the HF receiver, someone earlier posted the military nomenclature and I later
posted the TM number.
I never use but two of the search fields on LOGSA, Pub Number and Pub Title
Text. Pub is of course Publication. PIN is a six-digit (with leading zeroes)
number. I don't know what the "P" stands for but the number is the file name
of the PDF file. "IN" is undoubtedly "Identification Number". "EM" is some
other manual series number as when you get a hit it shows up in the header over
the TM number. Why they separated them out I don't know. "LIN" and "NIIN" I
think I've seen somewhere but would just be guessing if I assigned words to
them.
But in any case, for our uses if you know the nomenclature you enter that
into Pub Title Text and if you know the TM number you enter that into Pub Number.
But only enter up through the three-digit sequence number of the TM number
and omit rev letter and everything following to get the max number of related
hits.
