Alan Douglas's excellent book "Tube Testers and Classic Electronic Test
Gear" says that the Conar testers were all "simple emission testers". That
means they don't really compare to the Hickok and TV-7 transconductance
testers.
However, if you don't mind modifying it, I imagine you could use the
sockets and switches as the basis for a good tester.
