Howdy all,
Hopefully someone can help me on this as I might have
gotten in over my head, but I'm here now so on with
the show!
The S/G was acting erratic on higher frequencies. I
went to clean the contacts inside the RF deck and I
squirting DeOxit in there to get the contacts cleaned
up and while I was working the frequency range
selector and two "bushings" things fell out with a
fiber nut on the eend of one of them. These items are
inside the inductors. I had to pull the whole RF deck
out to get them back on.
My question is, I tightened it down the whole way and
thought I would check the others. I found another
loose one realized that maybe they are tunable? These
are NOT the pads and I can't find anything in the
manual talking about tuning the INSIDE of the
inductor. If they were tunable then bushing would
slide around inside the tube and wouldn't be accurate
would it?
This has me a little stressed out as I'm new at this
and this S/G was pretty well calibrated.
Thanks,
Doug
