Hi
I used a Simpson 360 about 25 years ago,
and found that it was putting out excessive current
through the leads during resistance tests, on several Ohms scales.
The built-in analog meter was pinning due to the excessive current,
as measured by another meter. The current was upwards
of an amp, if I remember correctly.
As I recall, I was not able to fix it for the owner at that time
(I don't recall if a manual was unavailable, or if it
was just lack of info in the Simpson 360 manual.)
I think I just put a label on it - saying do not use R X1
(or whatever the bad Ohms scale was), since that meter
was mostly needed to measure d.c. voltage, and it was fine
in that mode.
I do remember being impressed by the build quality of the p.c. board
in the Simpson 360.

The one I have working is a later unit (still with
edgwise meter under display) and 7107 based DPM. It
works, but accuracy is poor and edgewise meter bangs
the upper peg in Ohms ranges.
Anybody have any info on adjustment of that unit?
It has four pots, all of which interact.
Only find one manual on line and they apparently
made several different 360's.
