[Test-Equipment] FS: HP 606B

Yes.....that's right Ed. My experience with both of my 606B is they
drift like crazy.
I knew something was wrong so I checked the manual and found that the
line voltage spec is pretty tight so I had to use a Variac to get the
line voltage down within limits.
This was a giant improvement and both units are stable now.

I had been using a Logimetric 921-A generator until I loaded up into the
attenuator.
If anyone has a schematic for the attenuator resistor values I will go
back to using that thing. It is electrically stable but sounds like
Minnie Mouse on crack if you jar it.....so I set it on the floor.

It can't hurt to ask, but the price seems a bit rich to me. In
comparison,
I bought on the e-place an HP 8660A with plug-ins for 10 KHz to 110
MHz,
frequency readout to 1 Hz, and output accuracy of 1 dB. A big leap up
in
performance compared to any of the old analog generators, and all for
$300. It was
sold as guaranteed functional, but as best I can tell the calibration
is
still right on.
