Free for postage (to US addresses only)--I have an old HP5310A battery pack
that is going into the dumpster if no one wants it. It came out of an HP
5300B/5305B (which I'm keeping). The 5300B Measuring System is a power
supply and display unit, sort of a "main frame," and the 5305B 1300 MHz
counter is one of many things that can be plugged onto it.
(If you have a 5300B mated up with something, look on the rear and you'll
see two black plastic tabs on the sides. Pull them all the way out, and the
5300B and unit underneath it will be pushed apart so you can separate them
for repair or to strap on something else. The battery pack goes between
them. It has the same footprint as the other pieces and is about an inch and
a half tall, with a pair of carrying straps on either side.)
This uses 5 each 2.4V 4 amp hour nicads, which are quite heavy and also
pretty disreputable with lots of crud coming out around the edges. (They
probably date back to the late 70s.) I strongly doubt they are any good, and
unless the recipient really wants them I'll cut them out to save a lot of
weight. I'd leave one of the labels so the specs can be identified. The unit
has a front panel switch that allows the test equipment to operate from
either battery or AC power. (It has no AC power connector or supply of it's
own; it derives DC voltage from the 5300B.)
This is free, for postage only (will be mailed to US addresses only). You
can do whatever you want--use it, strip for parts (not much in it) or sell
it. I just want it out of the house one way or another!
