Suspect you mean the 8472A?
Its got an OSM input connector (i.e. SMA) , but is 10MHz to 18 GHz.
On the other hand the 8471A has a BNC input connector and is 100 kHz
to 1.2 GHz.
So the 8472A is probably not what you really need.
Rtaed max input is 100mV for the 8472A. Again, probably not what you
want if tube gear is involved as higher levels are more likely.
The 8472A will probably work below 10 MHz but the detector output
bypassing will be largely ineffective so you will have fed thru RF
garbage on the trace. The 8471A will have more filtering (bypassing)
on the output to be effective down to 100 kHz.
