[Test-Equipment] 8427A crystal detector

Hello all, fast question.

There is an hp 8427A crystal detector available to me. Specs say 10Mhz and up. I need a general purpose detector for HF/VHF/UHF measurements (up to 1Ghz).

Can anyone tell me if this will work well under 10mhz or should I look elsewhere for another model? Also, I am interested in sweeping tube gear as well, dont know if that makes a difference
