The discussion on repairing these has been interesting. I have a couple
stored away waiting for me to get around to repairing them.

The 7603 is a 100MHz scope, but the 7A18 vertical amp that often comes
with it is only rated to 75MHz. You could look for some 7A26 plugins
for a little more bandwidth.

The military version is missing the character display on the screen.
For most purposes that is a convenience, but I would think it is
essential for using the frequency counter plugins. Anyone know for sure?

I watch scopes on eBay occasionally. They haven't reached collector
status yet, so there are a lot of cheap scopes. Opinions as to the
value of "cheap" vary widely.

7603s are cheap. You might also consider a 7704A if you don't mind
bigger and heavier. You'll get 200MHz bandwidth.

The 5440 is cheap, too, and one to consider if the 50MHz bandwidth
would be adequate.

The 2200 series portable scopes are a little more. I have been
considering one like the 2246 or 2247 but more recently thought I might
go for something like the 2465 or 2467 and get 400MHz bandwidth. I have
a vague recollection that some of the scopes in this series have
problems, so I'd like to hear any comments from people with experience.
