[Test-Equipment] CORRECT BATTERY VOLTAGE AND TYPE FOR HP3586A SLA

The battery powers a single RAM chip when the main power is off. It is noted as 2.5 V on the print. There is a circuit that controls the CE (chip enable) from the battery  and the +5 VDC supply.

I didn't look up the part but it's virtually certain it's a 2 cell NiCd battery, with the cells end to end.  Try Digi-Key as I said some days ago..

The battery is charged by an about 10 ma current source (23 V @ 2.7K)
