Suggestions on how to lubricate notwithstanding, I remain unconvinced 
that this was ever lubed.  If it wasn't - don't!  And don't blow the 
conductive wear particles around inside.  If the assembly was designed 
to run dry it was designed to have the residue fall in-place.  RTFM.
