I believe a TV-7 will test 811A tubes and with special adapters 813 etc. I
built my own transmitting tube tester which pulses the tubes to high anode
currents.
It works quite well but a bit complex. Earlier this month I took it to
Dayton to check tubes that I was thinking of buying. Since it
runs off 12 volts I had it on a cart with large sealed batteries and carted
it around.
So far it works well with small tubes like the 6146 and 811A and larger
ones such as 4CX250, 4CX1500, 4-1000, 3-1000 and should work with 8877A7
tubes as well.
